How Does The Duallist Work?
The Duallist has two beaters. The right beater strikes when the footboard is pressed down, the left beater strikes when the footboard is released. It's as simple as that. No heel toe action no gimmicks.
What If I Want To Play Singles?
No problem. The Duallist features the Speedswitch system which allows switching between doubles and singles in an instant. The levers are positioned left and right of the heel so it is not necessary to remove your foot from the pedal at any time. Simply click the left lever with your heel to select singles and click the right lever with your heel, to select doubles.
Can I Switch During A Song?
Yes. There is no interruption to the pattern you are playing. The Duallist changes between single and double mode quickly and easily.
Does The Left Beater Strike As Loud As The Right?
Yes. It's all a matter of momentum. With any double pedal you
will notice that momentum is a key element in creating double
bass rhythms. When playing a conventional double pedal many drummers
find it necessary to re-train their balance to be able to play
both pedals and keep up the momentum. A common complaint when
playing double bass patterns on either double bass drums or double
pedal is that the leading foot strikes harder or louder than
the other foot. However when playing The Duallist your balance
is not affected, allowing you to play with a good momentum. The
left beater of The Duallist mirrors the action of the right beater,
so whatever momentum you create with the right beater the left
beater will copy. To learn more click here to read about the Science

Can I Play Triplets?
Yes. Triplets can be played in a few ways, some examples are: RLR which on The Duallist would be a movement of down up down, or LRR which on The Duallist simply requires you to play a swift double. In this case the left beater will strike on the upstroke as you go to play the double giving you LRR. There are many more phrases that can be played with ease including six stroke shuffles, continuous shuffles, broken 16ths and flams. Combinations of all of these can be easily mastered widening your vocabulary of chops overnight!!!

Dupont Zytel ® is not prone to cracking like the metal castings used in conventional bass pedals and benefits from being light in weight too!!!
